Nadine and I went out for dinner and drinks, mostly to just talk and hangout. Somehow we ended up on the topic of food, specifically breakfast (this was probably related to the amazing charcuterie board we ordered to pair with our wine). She told me that it is very common in Germany to have hard meats like sausages and salami as a staple of breakfast. While we do have some breakfast sausages and bacon that can be paired with a breakfast meal in America, the meat is rarely the star of the dish. She also mentioned that eggs were less commonly eaten with breakfast!
