CP#4 – Third meeting with Abdulrahman
Abdulrahman
and I decided to again meet at the Dunkin’ Donuts by campus and make that into
our usual meeting spot. Since he has to walk from his apartment, Dunkin’ Donuts
is the closest and most convenient place for him. During this meeting we mostly
concentrated on his future goals and dreams. He told me about which law schools
in America he wants to apply to. We talked about the application process and
his statement of purpose. We also talked about the reason why he wants to go to
a law school in America and not one in Saudi Arabia. He mentioned that this
would give him a competitive edge although he would prefer to stay in Saudi
Arabia. He is mostly here because of family pressure. Since his family wants the
best for him, they thought that they should have him come here, study, then
comeback. He wants to do his family proud but there is a lot of pressure on
him. He is scared about his chances of getting into law schools because of his
English abilities. I proceeded to let him know that since a lot of law schools
are willing to grant him conditional admission he does have a good chance of
getting into the law schools he has applied to.
