Tutoring Session #9. 6-15-18
I wanted Maria to learn to read faster that she had been. In her everyday life she doesn't have many reason to read anything longer that a text in English. I had printed out a few articles to use for reading lessons for her. The goal was to have her read them as quickly as she could and still comprehend the content. I would have her write out what she got from the article. We did this twice. Of course she didn't retain every detail of the story. However, she seemed to begin to feel a bit more comfortable with not hanging on every word.
