I’ve done another tutoring session with Amnazo and her kids,
starting with the regular activity of practicing their alphabet. One thing that
bothers me a bit is how one of them will blurt out the alphabet letter when I’m
trying to help one of the kids individually realize what that letter is. It’s
also frustrating how Kiza, the youngest tutee, always gets up to try to find
another sheet of paper around the house that already had the alphabet written
down. This is not the first time this has happened, but it was almost a breaking
point where I realized I needed to start a plan to stop this from happening in
the future. Afterwards I decided to have them practice their spelling, drawing
a picture with the word underneath it with a vowel missing. I then followed this
by finishing the Pied Piper story we read last week.
