Leslie CP #3
Leslie CP #3 CIES Building 5/23/18 4-5 pm
I asked my conversation partner how his week had gone. I
needed to explain my question and I understood his response to be that there
had been more ups than downs. I asked him what the major differences are in his
life here compared to Angola. He said the food was very different and that was
hard for him. He said much of the food in Angola is Portuguese dishes. He
maintains a positive attitude, though. He is living with a family outside of
Tallahassee and wants to be closer to FSU and the student community. He has
some information about apartments and said he was going to move in August. I
spoke with him about how thousands of students will be coming to Tallahassee
soon to start fall semester in late August. I told him that many students rent
apartments in July. I encouraged him to make that move if he could, and to ask
CIES staff for whatever help they provide. We talked about other countries
where Portuguese is the language. He has been to most of them. It was very
interesting to hear about Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique, and others.
