I observed Ryan Flemming's listening class. Mr. Flemming seemed an outgoing, approachable teacher. I noticed that he spoke using simpler language, explaining concepts that he thought might be tricky in a little more depth whenever they were brought up. Before the lesson actually began, he made reference to past lessons and reminded them about an upcoming test. The actual lesson consisted of them doing a series of listening activities, writing down a spoken phrase and determining whether or not it was true or false. After the activity there was review for the quiz that was happening the next day. Understandably a lot of focus was put on this, with the final few minutes of the class a sort of communal note sharing preparation session among the students. Mr. Flemming was obviously concerned with the students success and made a lot of effort to have them participate, lecturing very little. Unfortunately this seemed to be a review session, so I was not able to see Mr. Flemming teach a new concept which I believe would have been enlightening.
