I’ve started my next tutoring session reading from the boys’
Mickey Mouse fairy tale book, reading its version of Jack and The Beanstalk to
help them with their listening comprehension. I followed this teaching them to
spell some simple words that are more commonly spoken in conversation rather
than the usual ‘cat’ or ‘dog’ that I previously taught them to spell. This was
then followed by an activity to teach them the concept of opposites, giving
some examples and to see if they can provide their own examples of opposite
pairs, which was something really enjoyable to them. This was the last session
I’ve had with Amnazo and her kids in order to meet the requirements to get my
TEFL certificate. Of course I still plan on continuing to tutor the family, but
so far I think I’ve gained some valuable knowledge with my time spent with them.
